DataQuick Information Services has reported that for the 14th consecutive month, Los Angeles County home prices are up over 20% versus the same time last year.
With a median price of $407,000, down slightly from a June high of $414,000, all indicators show that the housing market in Los Angeles County is still very strong. The supply of homes in L.A. County has risen in recent months, but demand is still very strong.
According to DataQuick's chief analyst, John Karevoll, the market seems pretty stable. Based on all data available the "housing bubble" doesn't seem ready to burst. On the contrary, the housing market seems to be retaining much of its gains, stabilizing at current prices.
